Curious about what it takes to be a foster?
It’s surprisingly simple & highly rewarding!
Our network of reliable & trusted fosters are really the heart of our operations - without them we wouldn’t be able to save nearly as many animals. That’s why we aim to make the process as easy as possible.
Fosters should be:
Reliable
Passionate
Flexible
Rescue Responsibilites
Foster Responsibilites
What You Do
Fosters care for the animal and provide basic
needs while in their care. Fosters help to
socialize and work with the animals’ needs until they are ready for lounge life or are adopted out. All they need is love and appropriate care. Fosters should be able to bring the animal to a vet in emergencies and stay in communication with the coordinators.
What We Do
FAR Side Journey will provide the animals with necessary medical care including vaccines, dewormer, wellness checks, & any diagnostics / surgeries. We get all of our animals spayed/neutered. FAR Side Journey also coordinates the adoption process.
The Goodbye Goal
The Longterm Objective
We often hear people say that they cannot foster because they would fall in love. That’s okay - our kitties SHOULD be loved! However saying goodbye is the goal, so while it can be sad, it is so rewarding seeing them in their forever homes knowing that without you, they wouldn’t have even had that chance at a loving family.
